Nouvelles séries 2025
Statumanoïdes ©Justine Van den Driessche
Statumanoïdes offers a visual hybridization between sculpture and human representation. The figures oscillate between the appearance of statues and that of young humans, whose features blend zombie-like and humanoid aspects. The title, a contraction of "statue" and "humanoid," emphasizes this dual appearance.

Decaying landscapes ©Justine Van den Driessche
Decaying landscapes and Stratations explore the mutation and hybridization of forms between nature and artificiality, where organic and synthetic materials merge. Through the use of generative tools, these series question the visual dynamics of the environment, oscillating between realism and abstraction. Each image becomes an exploration of instability and transformation, reinventing the perception of landscapes in a world in transition.

Artificial intelligence is emerging as a new revolution in digital image production, opening up new perspectives for artists and visual creators. Capable of generating visuals of remarkable precision and aesthetic diversity, it notably pushes the boundaries of photographic realism.
By disrupting our relationship with images, it also questions the notion of authenticity and fuels debates on veracity and visual manipulation.
As part of my participation in the exhibition AImagine photographie and generative images at the Hangar photography art center, this article offers a reflection on the use of artificial intelligence in art, particularly with regard to its capacity to re-examine artistic heritage. This approach echoes that of the exhibition, which invited us as artists to revisit historical events or figures, while questioning our practices through the new possibilities offered by AI.
Throughout history, technical advances have continually redefining the boundaries of artistic creation. Today, how do we artists approach AI tools in our creative processes? What place and status do we give them in contemporary creation?
This article offers a reflection on the emerging relationship between the artist and AI, exploring the questions it raises and the new dialogues it establishes between technology and artistic practice.
